About

Overview

In the busy glazed main street of Bodø, an empty shop space has gotten new life with a new intimate restaurant serving sushi and other East Asian dishes. The restaurant is probably the smallest in town, a challenge that required tailor-made solutions. The main architectural element is the wood ceiling, made of thermally modified pine, hiding the technical installations above and allows for shelves and lighting to be integrated in its inherent system. The main colors and materials are colored in dark tones in order to create a sense of seclusion from the busy street outside.

Everything, from the kitchen interior to the custom made tables, is designed to fit a sustainable number of guests and employees to make the daily operations of the business viable. Hidden storage spaces are integrated into the fixed furniture and walls to make the most out of the limited confines of the space.
